Rotation and Revolution [ഭ്രമണവും പരിക്രമണവും ]

Rotation

The spinning of the earth on its own axis is called rotation. It takes 24 hours the earth to complete one rotation. The earth moves from the west to the east.
Day and night happens due to the rotation of the earth. The part of the earth on which sunlight falls experiences day and the other part experiences the night.
Revolution
The earth revolves around the sun along a definite path is called revolution.
The earth takes 365 1/4 days to move around the sun once. ( This is one year) Seasons happens due to the revolution of the earth.

ഭ്രമണം
ഭൂമി സ്വയം കറങ്ങുന്നതിനെ ഭ്രമണം എന്ന് പറയുന്നു. ഭൂമിക്ക് ഒരു ഭ്രമണം പൂർത്തിയാക്കാൻ 24 മണിക്കൂർ വേണം. ഇതാണ് ഒരു ദിവസം. ഭൂമി സ്വയം കറങ്ങുന്നതുമൂലമാണ് പകലും രാത്രിയും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്.

പരിക്രമണം
ഭൂമി സ്വയം കറങ്ങുന്നതിനോടൊപ്പം സൂര്യനെ ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നുന്നതിനെ പരിക്രമണം എന്ന് പറയുന്നു. ഒരു തവണ സൂര്യനെ ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിക്കാൻ ഭൂമിക്ക് മുന്നൂറ്റിഅറുപത്തഞ്ചേകാൽ ദിവസം വേണം.ഇതാണ് ഒരു വർഷം.
