ദേശാടനപ്പക്ഷികൾ [MIGRATORY BIRDS]

പ്രതികൂല കാലാവസ്ഥയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള രക്ഷയ്ക്കും ഭക്ഷണത്തിനും പ്രജനനത്തിനും വേണ്ടി ചിലയിനം പക്ഷികൾ കൂട്ടത്തോടെ ഒരു ദേശത്തുനിന്നും മറ്റൊരു ദേശത്തെത്തുന്നു. കാലാവസ്ഥ അനുകൂലമാകുമ്പോൾ അവ തിരിച്ചു സഞ്ചരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇത്തരം പക്ഷികളാണ് ദേശാടനപക്ഷികൾ.

Some species of birds migrate from one place to another in large numbers to escape from adverse weather conditions, to obtain food and for breeding. When the weather becomes favourable, they return. Such birds are called migratory birds.
