ജാലിയൻവാലാബാഗിൽ നടന്ന കൂട്ടക്കൊലയ്ക്ക് എതിരെ രാജ്യമെങ്ങും പ്രതിഷേധം ഇരമ്പി . ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഗവൺമെന്റു മായി എല്ലാ രീതിയിലും നിസ്സഹകരിക്കാൻ ഗാന്ധിജി ജനങ്ങളോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു . ആ ലക്ഷ്യത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നടന്ന സമരമാണ് നിസ്സഹകരണസമരം . ഖാദി പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുക , വിദേശവസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുക , ഹിന്ദിഭാഷ പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുക , മദ്യം വർജിക്കുക തുടങ്ങിയ ആശയങ്ങളാണ് നിസ്സഹകരണ സമരത്തിലൂടെ ഉയർത്തിയത് . Gandhiji called for a countrywide strike after the Jallianwallabagh massacre. He suggested a programme of non-cooperation to protest against the British government. It was known as Non-cooperation Movement. The demands are Promote Khadi,Boycott the foreign clothes,Propagate the Hindi language,Avoid the use of liquor.

People took part in the Non-cooperation movement through promoting Indian textiles and boycotting foreign goods. They also promoted Hindi language and organized against the use of liquor .
