വാഗൺ ട്രാജഡി [Wagon Tragedy]

ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭരണത്തിനെതിരെ കേരളത്തിൽ നടന്ന സമരങ്ങളിൽ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതാണ് മലബാർ കലാപം 1921 ൽ നടന്ന ഈ കലാപത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തവരിൽ തൊണ്ണൂറോളം പേരെ ചരക്കുതീവണ്ടിയിൽ കുത്തി നിറച്ച് മലബാറിലെ തിരൂരിൽ നിന്നും കോയമ്പത്തൂ രിലേയ്ക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി . പോത്തന്നൂരിലെത്തിയ പ്പോഴേക്കും ശ്വാസം കിട്ടാതെ അവരിൽ പകുതിയി ലേറെപ്പേർ മരിച്ചിരുന്നു . ഇത് ' വാഗൺ ട്രാജഡി ' എന്നപേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു . Malabar rebellion is one of the Major agitations against the British rule in Kerala. This rebellion that broke out in 1921 . About 90 rebels were arrested and they were placed inside a goods wagon at Tirur to be taken to Coimbatoor. By the time the train reached Pothannoor about half of the captives lost their lives on account of suffocation. This is known as 'Wagon Tragedy'.
