Jallianwallabagh Massacre | ജാലിയൻവാലാബാഗ് കൂട്ടക്കൊല

1919 ഏപ്രിൽ 13 ന് പഞ്ചാബിലെ അമൃത്‌സറിലെ ജാലിയൻവാലാബാഗ് മൈതാനത്ത് ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരുടെ ക്രൂരമായ റൗലറ്റ് നിയമത്തിനെതിരെ ഒരു പ്രതിഷേധയോഗം നടക്കുകയാ യിരുന്നു . ചുറ്റുപാടും കെട്ടിടങ്ങളാൽ ചുറ്റുപ്പെട്ട ആ മൈതാനത്തേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ ഒരു വഴി മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു . പെട്ടെന്ന് , ജനറൽ ഡയറിന്റെ ( കേണൽ റെജിനാൾഡ് എഡ്‌വേഡ്‌ ഹാരി ഡയർ ) നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പട്ടാളം പ്രവേശനമാർഗം വളയുകയും യോഗത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തവരുടെനേർക്ക് തുടർച്ചയായി വെടിയുതിർക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു . വെടിയേറ്റും , തിക്കിലും തിരക്കിലും പെട്ടും നൂറുക്കണക്കിനാളുകൾക്ക് ജീവൻ നഷ്ട്ടപ്പെട്ടു . അതിലേറെപ്പേർക്ക് മുറിവേറ്റു . ലോകമനഃസാക്ഷിയെ ഞെട്ടിച്ച ഈ സംഭവം , ജാലിയൻവാലാബാഗ് കൂട്ടക്കൊല എന്നപേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു . The people of Punjab had gathered in large numbers on 13th April 1919 at Jallianwallabagh in Amritsar to protest against the Rowlatt Act. - It was an open ground enclosed by huge buildings with only one entrance.The British military commander blocked the entrance with his army and started to fire. Hundreds of people lost their lives either in the firing or in the rush. It was known as Jallianwallabagh Massacre.
